Hong Kong, 14 abr (China) — A legislatura de Hong Kong começou nesta quarta-feira a deliberar um projeto de lei sobre a melhoria do sistema eleitoral da Região Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong (RAEHK).
O projeto de lei, em um pacote chamado Projeto de Lei de Melhoria do Sistema Eleitoral (Emendas Consolidadas) 2021, foi levado ao Conselho Legislativo (LegCo) para a primeira e segunda leituras em uma reunião que começou na quarta-feira.
A emenda local veio cerca de duas semanas depois que as revisões eleitorais foram aprovadas pela principal legislatura da China.
O Comitê Permanente da Assembleia Popular Nacional aprovou em 30 de março o Anexo I e Anexo II emendados da Lei Básica da RAEHK, que dizem respeito aos métodos de seleção do chefe do Executivo da RAEHK e formação do LegCo.
O projeto de lei compreende principalmente seis áreas, incluindo a reconstituição do Comitê Eleitoral, fornecendo o método de seleção do chefe do Executivo, a atualização da composição e formação do LegCo, e a elegibilidade de candidatos, entre outras.
A chefe do Executivo da RAEHK, Carrie Lam, disse esperar que o projeto seja aprovado pelos legisladores até o final de maio.
