Chongqing, 9 ago – Uma panda gigante chamada Ershun deu à luz filhotes gêmeos no final de julho em um zoológico no Município de Chongqing, sudoeste na China, e eles estão em boas condições no momento, anunciou o zoológico na segunda-feira.
Ershun acasalou naturalmente com um panda macho no Centro de Conservação e Pesquisa do Panda Gigante da China, na província vizinha de Sichuan, em março, informou o Zoológico de Chongqing.
Os filhotes pesavam 132 gramas e 91 gramas, respectivamente, quando nasceram, em 22 de julho. Eles já atingiram um peso de 420 gramas e de 257 gramas, respectivamente, disse o zoológico.
Este foi o segundo parto de gêmeos de Ershun.
Nascida em agosto de 2007, Ershun viveu no Zoológico de Toronto e no Zoológico de Calgary no Canadá como enviada de boa vontade entre março de 2013 e novembro de 2020.
Um total de 21 pandas vivem atualmente no Zoológico de Chongqing, que começou a criar pandas gigantes na década de 1960.
