Guangzhou (Xinhua) — Xi Jinping, secretário-geral do Comitê Central do Partido Comunista da China, enfatizou na segunda-feira uma melhor proteção e desenvolvimento da cidade antiga de Chaozhou, durante sua visita de inspeção na Província de Guangdong, sul da China.
Xi visitou lojas locais, perguntou sobre preços e conversou com os moradores, aprendendo sobre a proteção dos quarteirões históricos e culturais e a retomada dos negócios.
Chaozhou é uma famosa cidade cultural com uma longa história, disse ele, saudando a cultura de Chaoshan como uma parte importante da cultura chinesa.
Xi disse que são preciosos tesouros da cultura chinesa o bordado de Chaozhou e os entalhes em madeira, a escultura, a ópera, o chá e a culinária da região.
“Nós amamos esta cidade. Temos que cuidar bem dela e construí-la bem”, disse ele.
