

Boao, Hainan, 21 abr (China) — Zheng Zhongwei, chefe do grupo de trabalho para desenvolvimento de vacinas sob o mecanismo de prevenção e controle conjunto da COVID-19 do Conselho de Estado, estimou que a China deve produzir mais de 3 bilhões de doses de vacinas contra a COVID-19 este ano.
A atual capacidade de produção do país é de cerca de 5 bilhões de doses por ano, informou Zheng nesta terça-feira.
Em um subfórum da conferência anual do Fórum Boao para a Ásia, Zheng comentou que, quando o surto aconteceu, a China imediatamente se concentrou na pesquisa e desenvolvimento de vacinas contra a COVID-19.
Ao todo, 10 unidades de pesquisa no país realizaram trabalhos envolvendo 12 tipos de vacinas, relatou Zheng.
A China proporcionará mais vacinas a nível mundial no segundo semestre de 2021, acrescentou.
